Reset & Recover

Reset & Recover

Our weekly recovery programme for drink, drugs and gambling – run by people who have come through addiction themselves.

Reset & Recover is built around a 12-week* structure, but that is a guide, not a finish line. Week by week you will learn to recognise the thinking behind addiction, pick up practical tools to interrupt it, and rebuild your confidence and direction – with people alongside you who genuinely understand. It is not a quick fix, and we would not pretend otherwise.

What’s included

  • A weekly group meeting – one evening a week in Widnes, where you share how the week has gone, learn the tools, and stay accountable in a room full of people who get it.
  • Recovery walks – getting out together for a walk and a talk. Fresh air, movement, and honest conversation, away from four walls.
  • Peer support – a network of people who have been where you are, so the hard moments between sessions are never faced on your own.
  • One-to-one support – personal support built around your own triggers, goals and situation, not a one-size-fits-all plan.
  • Practical recovery tools – simple techniques you can use in the moment to interrupt harmful patterns and make better decisions. Tools include Name IT, Pattern Interruption, The Opponent, Step Back, Play It Out, and Damage Report.
  • Our recovery app – once you join, the team sets you up with our app: the tools, check-ins, and a way to stay connected to the team between meetings, right in your pocket.

What a typical week looks like

Most weeks centre on one evening group session, with a walk and one-to-one check-ins around it, and the app keeping you connected in between. You get out what you put in – but you are never doing it on your own.

Is this for me?

Reset & Recover is for adults ready to work on drink, drugs or gambling, wherever you are starting from. We meet people where they are and there is no judgement here.

Everyone starts with a short, friendly phone call, so we can make sure the programme is the right fit for you before you come along. If you are not sure, reach out anyway and we will talk it through together.

* Twelve weeks is a guideline, not a deadline. We keep working alongside you for as long as it takes, until you are satisfied your addiction is truly conquered and well managed.
